Bethany Meilani Hamilton is an American professional surfer. 
She is known for surviving a shark attack in which her left arm was bitten off, 
and for overcoming the injury to ultimately return to professional surfing.

Bethany is my family and I am proud to say that she never gave up even 
when it would have been so easy for her to just totally give up she strived 
forward to achieve and accomplish a life and experience to call her own! 
So very proud of her and all her accomplishments!
