The Nightmare is Real: Man Pilots Drone With Google Glass

Parrot AR.Drone 2.0

Google Glass developer hacks drone with JavaScript to be controlled via Glass, world trembles

While attending International Nodebots Day in Portland, Google Glass developer Blaine Bublitz used JavaScript to hack a Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Quadricopter (the kind you can rather ominously buy at Barnes and Noble and on Amazon) to be controlled by a set of Google Glasses.
Check out his write-up of his accomplishment here, along with the equipment, several videos and Vines of his progress, and even the JavaScript he used included.
While I am completely impressed by Bublitz’s work, this also combines all of my nightmares into one horrendous image, conjuring a Hieronymous Bosch-style vista of Bay Area technical elites joining Homeland Security to hunt down the now-undesirable, impoverished American masses with Glass-controlled drones in a massive “Most Dangerous Game” style bloodbath, while congratulating themselves and keeping score on Twitter and posting Vines of their kills captured from cameras mounted on their drones and fed back to their Google Glass sets to be posted in real time, discussing mass murder with terms like “gamification.”
Yes, that’s actually what goes through my mind when I see things like this. I may be a bit twitchy.
