Το Μουσείο Ακρόπολης συμμετέχει στη Διεθνή Ημέρα Μουσείων, την Παρασκευή 18 Μαΐου, με ελεύθερη είσοδο για τους επισκέπτες.
Για να τιμήσει την ημέρα αυτή, το Μουσείο θα κυκλοφορήσει αναμνηστικό μετάλλιο που έκοψε σε συνεργασία με το Εθνικό Νομισματοκοπείο,
εμπνευσμένο από το κυνηγετικό σκυλί της Ακρόπολης που χρονολογείται
γύρω στο 520 π.Χ. και βρίσκεται στην Αρχαϊκή Αίθουσα.
Για να τιμήσει την ημέρα αυτή, το Μουσείο θα κυκλοφορήσει αναμνηστικό μετάλλιο που έκοψε σε συνεργασία με το Εθνικό Νομισματοκοπείο,
εμπνευσμένο από το κυνηγετικό σκυλί της Ακρόπολης που χρονολογείται
γύρω στο 520 π.Χ. και βρίσκεται στην Αρχαϊκή Αίθουσα.

από τους μεγάλους συνθέτες W. A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven και
Ν. Σκαλκώτα στον εξώστη του δεύτερου ορόφου με θέα τα αγάλματα
στην Αρχαϊκή Αίθουσα. Οι επισκέπτες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να απολαύσουν
τη μουσική και συγχρόνως τη θέα των μοναδικών αρχαϊκών αγαλμάτων.

votive sculptures left behind by the invading Persian army during the
Greco-Persian Wars. The hound is represented at a moment of extreme
stress, ready to strike, as it seems he has caught the scent of his prey.
The presence of such a sculpture in the Sanctuary of Athena seems odd,
given that real dogs were not permitted there. Rather it is more likely,
that the statue had guarded the goddess of the hunt,
Artemis in her nearby Sanctuary.
