Το Μουγγρί (Conger conger) ....

... είναι ένα είδος ψαριού που συναντάμε συχνά σε βραχώδεις βυθούς του Αιγαίου. Ζει σε ρηχές παράκτιες περιοχές, ενώ μεταναστεύει στα βαθύτερα νερά (200-300m) για να αναπραχθεί. Το κάθε μουγγρί κάνει 3-8 εκατομμύρια αυγά, τα οποία επιπλέουν σε πλανκτονική μορφή για 1-2 χρόνια μέχρι να αναπτυχθούν σε μικρά μουγγριά. Τα μουγγριά είναι νυχτερινοί θηρευτές και τρέφονται με ψάρια, ασπόνδυλα και κεφαλόποδα.

The European Conger (Conger conger) is a species of fish that is often found in the rocky coastal zones of the Aegean Sea. While is spends most of its time in shallow coastal areas, it migrates to deeper waters (200-300m) to reproduce. Each European Conger lays 3-8 millions of eggs that float at the surface of the water in plankton form for 1-2 years until they hatch. European Congers are nocturnal predators, and eat fish, invertebrates and cephalopods.
