Seisachtheia* was a set of laws instituted by the Athenian lawmaker Solon (c. 638 BC–558 BC) that freed the people from debt slavery.

Seisachtheia

First they came for the Greeks,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Greek.

Then they came for the Spanish and the Portuguese,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t neither a Spanish nor a Portuguese.

Then they came for the Cypriot,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Cypriot.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

European solidarity and Seisachtheia is the only way forward!
