NYPD Remembrance Ceremony Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly presided over today the annual remembrance ceremony held at the NYPD Honor Legion Police Memorial Garden in the Cypress Hills Cemetery in Queens.....

[...] The event, hosted by the NYPD Honor Legion and the Traffic Squad Benevolent Association, honors police officers who have passed away. During this year's ceremony four new plaques were unveiled on the memorial pedestal. The garden dates back to 1871 and was created at that time to ensure police officers who passed away would have a dignified location to be buried.
