An eight-year-old boy with leukemia has found love with a seven-year-old classmate after his parents decided to end his cancer treatment so he could enjoy some of his childhood.
David Spisak, of Chesapeake, Virginia, was two years old when his first cancer diagnosis came, and since then he has been in and out of the hospital as his cancer has come back three more times.
His fourth diagnosis arrived in March, CBS affiliate WTKR reported.
The boy's parents 'made the decision to stop treatments and let David live as normal and happy a life as he can with all of the experiences an eight-year-old should have,' the television station wrote.

Eight-year-old David, who has leukemia, has found love with his seven-year-old classmate Ayla  David recently asked Ayla out on the phone. Photos of the children on Facebook show David presenting Ayla with flowers, as well as David and Ayla snuggling

In a crowdfunding appeal for David on YouCaring, his parents wrote: 'He finally gets his slice of life. No more isolation from people or places, restrictions, living in hospitals, missing family events, watching kids play from inside the living room window - only swimming pools, special events, going everywhere possible, fun, playing with other kids, going hard and fast to make it count!'
Those experiences now include a 'first date' with his class 'crush', a little girl called Ayla, who started sending cards to David after his last diagnosis meant more forced time away from school.
David's mother Amber Spisak contacted Ayla's mother Angela Andrews, according to WTKR, to arrange for the pair to meet up at a bowling center.

David was enrolled in the second grade this fall, and later left after he began to feel pain in his legs. Notes from his classmates, including several Ayla herself wrote, came in and described her longing to see him  David's mother Amber Spisak wrote on Facebook '[Ayla] pushed his wheelchair, helped him get the bowling balls, they stayed connected the entire time even with 15 family and friends around'

According to WKTR, David described Ayla to his parents after they inquired about her by saying: 'She kinda looks like Snow White. Actually, she is kinda like the real Snow White because she is so kind to everybody, especially me because she loves me.'
Sitting with Ayla, David told WTKR: 'My heart knows. They know.'
'Mine does too,' Ayla told the television station.
Amber Spisak wrote on Facebook Sunday: 'It started with a phone call properly asking her on a "date," a frenzy to pick out the clothes and style his hair just so, a card he made for her and gift and then he began anxiously awaiting for the big moment when she came running to him at the bowling center!
'There were roses which lead to the most adorable squeal from her and landed him his first "kiss" on the cheek.

'She pushed his wheelchair, helped him get the bowling balls, they stayed connected the entire time even with 15 family and friends around; they just wanted to be close.
'THEN, he forced himself out of the wheelchair and not only STOOD UP, he WALKED the rest of the day, BOWLED standing up and refused to get back in his chair...for her!
'He hasn't been out of the wheelchair since 10/10/15 but love will empower you.'
Angela Andrews told WTKR: 'She knows what's coming.
'And she just wants him to be happy and wants him to smile as long as possible.'
