Afroditi Grizi process the silk in explosion of colours, as well as fine shades creating 2 levels that interact through the light. Eirini Mnatsakanian through paintings and engraving imprints shades of the past restructuring the relationships in the present. Anna-Maria Smyrnaki painting with watercolour Indian ink and pencil on white paper, imprints instants of existence, using allegories. Harris Kondosphyris gestalter of the exhibition writes about : «Far away from the mind, at the most sacred edge of the heart, we walk shaking. One foot steps at the sunburned land and the other one seeks in the dark, in the abyss, in the mud of blindness. We all have the agonies of Nikos Kazantzakis. The three artists emotionally sense, one the birth, another the course of life and the third one the need to demist the reflection in order to become presence. In the urban individualism the narcissism, the biological birth, the renascence of mind and soul, the nostalgia of death are the phenomena that need to be elucidated and the questions that concern particularly all three of them. Confessions and anti-confessions, the void inside, the repulsion for the authority, the superimposition of the introspection about he inconsistency, the perception of the world of so many resigned, the social survival, the decay of the sense of the past, the fear of senescence and the androgynous utopia are some of the surge. The visual positions for the pregnant woman, the trustee of the memory in a family and the distinctness of the female effect, it is accomplished in one hand through painting but on the other hand though the introduction of a new action, the one of the nostalgic remembrance genetically cinematic. This exhibition refers to the flame which is the human soul, that does not stands still, cannot be burned and no one can blow it out, as Nikos Kazantzakis claims combatively. Afroditi Gkrizi revives, Eirini Mnatsakanian does not forget and Anna-Maria Smyrnaki invades at the selfish self. Τhe memory owns us! Afrodite offers, Eirini is being dominated and Anna –Maria is being chartographed in the capacity of memory.” Afrodite Grizi says about her work : “Life begins in a tender, fragile universe but at the same time this universe is savage, hard and inhospitable. The foetus swings in the endometrium environment, in a paradise of coexistence and interaction. The first experiences in the uterus, as in the moment of birth, operate as archetypes, not consciously perceived by human nature. George Eliot said that: “there is no creature whose interior world is so powerful, so that is not affected from its surroundings.” Socrates mentioned that “The part of the self I don’t know, ends up, dominating me.” The conditions and the effects of the environment of existence, constantly modify its nature. In the internal and external world, Fate and Willingness are interdependent. Since the ancient times Fate is our share in life, it’s our specific share in pain, suffering and joy. An unexplored mystery remains the primary cells’ route of existence, which is structured by visible or invisible forces. It is a ruthless wrestle between the Spirit and Matter. This unconscious wrestle of opposite forces brings harmony. An elliptical narration is synthesized between paper and silk, that penetrates the unconscious. Light is linked to life and is the bearer of memory. It passes through the translucent silk fabric, to annihilate forms and facts. Coherent images are designed on paper, parallel to the paintings on the silk fabric. Two interactive levels are created, that indicate different space-time situations. Hidden memories and experiences emerge.” Eirini Mnatsakanian mentions about her work : “My paintings refer to my relationship with my closest people. They are about desires in relationships that never got fulfilled, relationships that I took the decision to end or tried to regain. Relationships of guilt that Ι dare to deal with. I draw and engrave the human presence going towards the void of death with tender gestures that Ι carry in my memory from the wall papers of my grandfather’s house. Αs time goes by, each relationship leaves its essence in me and on my papers. That is why I feel the need to give through my work, the feeling of the interaction in those relationships cause I have the belief that is the only way for me to communicate with the people who see my art. Anna-Maria Smyrnaki writes : “I meet with my personal concerns. I think that paintings consists a parallel path with my life. In this section of artworks it concerns me is the Ego and my Existence to the present, in confrontation with situations and people in my familiar environment as well. The essence of Pessoa “being aware what my life has been until today – so many times and sο keenly opposite towards my desires – I cannot predict my tommorow’ s life, that it will truly what I cannot predict, what I do not desire, what it will be compelled to me from something foreign, even with the mediation of my own will” is representative of my present thoughts. It concerns me the matter of stereotypical behaviors, of social roles enforcement and by using the equivalent allegories I point out those elements. The writing consists integral part of my work and I merge it in my own way since it is impossible for me not to imprint the thoughts that emerge.” Τεχνοχώρος Previous article Παραιτήθηκε από Αντιπρόεδρος της Τρ.
