For people living in northern Nepal, winter isn’t coming;

it's already here.
Temperatures are dropping quickly, and snow has started falling.
Many of the communities sit on the sides of cliffs at elevations of up to 12,600 feet.

Villagers here suffered greatly from the earthquakes this year.
Many are living in conditions that will not protect them from the plummeting temperatures—such as tents,
houses with no windows or with cracks that let in cold air.

Samaritan’s Purse is working through many challenges, including a fuel shortage throughout Nepal,

to get winter supplies to these hard-to-reach communities.
Until four weeks ago, one village in Langtang—an area virtually demolished by the earthquake—was only accessible by helicopter. Desperate to remedy their isolation, the community members cleared the path
so that supplies could once again be brought in by donkeys and yaks. This is just one example of villages throughout northern Nepal in need of assistance as the winter descends.

A village elder in Langtang shared this with us:

"Before the earthquake this was a beautiful place, everyone was enjoying life here, very close knit.

After the earthquake, a lot of fear set in. People don’t know what their future is, everybody left and went out,
not knowing if it is safe, and now we’re trying to come back."

"We need three main things. We need to be able to have a way to keep our houes warm, we need warm

clothing which we don’t have now, and if possible we also need help, help us bring more food in.
Help us get through this and have our houses warm. Thank you."

Please pray that God will help our teams in Nepal reach people with the supplies they

need to survive the winter.
