Η Kaminer, τελείωσε πρόσφατα ενός έτους υπηρεσία με τους ισραηλινούς προσκόπους
( "Tzofim») στη νότια πόλη Σντερότ . Εκεί εργάστηκε εθελοντικά με παιδιά που πάσχουν από τραύμα που οφείλεται στους πολέμους στη Γάζα και στους συνεχιζόμενους βομβαρδισμούς στην πόλη.
"Τα παιδιά με τα οποία δούλεψα, μεγάλωσαν στην καρδιά της σύγκρουσης και είχαν εξαιρετικά δύσκολες εμπειρίες από νεαρή ηλικία - εμπειρίες που τα ανάγκασαν να αισθάνονται μίσος, το οποίο μπορεί να γίνει κατανοητό, ειδικά όταν προέρχεται από 
μικρά παιδιά," έγραψε η Kaminer σε μια δήλωση πριν από αρκετές ημέρες.
"Πολλά παιδιά που μεγαλώνουν στη Γάζα ή στη Δυτική Όχθη, σε ένα δύσκολο περιβάλλον, μαθαίνουν να μισούν την άλλη πλευρά, και δεν μπορώ να τα κατηγορήσω" συνεχίζει. 
"Όταν κοιτάζω όλα αυτά τα παιδιά, και σκέφτομαι την επόμενη γενιά, και στις δύο πλευρές, και την πραγματικότητα στην οποία μεγαλώνουν, βλέπω μόνο περισσότερο τραύμα 
και πόνο.
Έτσι, αποφασίσα να πω: ΦΤΑΝΕΙ! 
Αυτός είναι ο λόγος για τον οποίο αρνούμαι: για να μη λάβω ενεργό μέρος στην κατοχή 

των παλαιστινιακών εδαφών και τις αδικίες που αντιμετωπίζει ο παλαιστινιακός λαός 
υπό κατοχή, και να μην συμμετέχω σε αυτόν τον κύκλο του μίσους στη Γάζα 
και τη Σντερότ. "

Η Kaminer καταδικάστηκε σε 20 ημέρες φυλάκιση σε στρατιωτική φυλακή. 
Στη συνέχεια θα απελευθερωθεί και θα της ζητήθει ξανά να υπηρετήσει στο στρατό. 
Σε περίπτωση που αρνηθεί ξανά, θα πρέπει να καταδικαστεί σε άλλον ένα μήνα στη φυλακή. Αυτή η διαδικασία θα επαναλαμβάνεται έως ότου ο στρατός αποφασίσει 
να την απαλλάξει επισήμως. 
Κατά τη διάρκεια των τελευταίων ετών, αρκετοί αντιρρησίες συνείδησης έχουν καταδικαστεί έως και 10 φορές σε αυτόν το φαύλο κύκλο.

Approximately 40 demonstrators accompanied Israeli conscientious objector Tair Kaminer to the Tel Hashomer induction base on Sunday, where she is expected to be sentenced for her refusal to enlist in the Israeli army.

The demonstrators held signs chanted against the occupation at the entrance to the base. Some of them organized a short performance, in which they wore IDF uniforms and pledged their loyalty to the state while their their eyes, ears, and mouths were covered.

Kaminer, 19, recently finished a year of national service with the Israeli Scouts (“Tzofim”) in the southern development town of Sderot. There she volunteered with children who suffer from trauma due to multiple wars in Gaza and continual rocket fire on the city. “The children I worked with grew up in the heart of the conflict and have had extremely difficult experiences from a young age, experiences that caused them to feel hatred, which can be understood, especially when it comes from young children,” Kaminer wrote in a statement several days ago.

“Like them, many children who grow up in Gaza or in the West Bank, in an even more difficult environment, learn to hate the other side,” she continues. “They, too, cannot be blamed. When I look at all of these children, and the next generation on both sides and the reality in which they grow up, I see only more trauma and pain. And I say enough! That is why I refuse: so that I do not take an active part in the occupation of the Palestinian territories and the injustices that the Palestinian people face under occupation, so that I do not take part in this circle of hate in Gaza and Sderot.”

Kaminer also writes that she aspires to peace, equality, democracy, and security for all people who live in Israel/Palestine, emphasizing the security of those whose security tends to be forgotten — Palestinians and Israeli residents of the western Negev Desert. “They convince us that the army has nothing to do with politics, but serving in the army is a political decision. Military jail frightens me less than our society losing its humanity.”

The protest, which was organized by a new group called “Mesarvot” (“Refusers” in Hebrew), included anti-occupation activists, Druze conscientious objectors, anarchists, communists, and others. Participants also included members of the Kaminer family, including Tair’s cousin, Matan Kaminer, who served two years in military prison for his refusal to enlist 13 years ago (full disclosure: I served in prison alongside Matan and a number of other friends for refusing to enlist in the military. Matan and I remain friends until this day).

Kaminer is expected to be sentenced to a month in military jail. (Update, 10 p.m.: Kaminer was sentenced to 20 days.) She will then be released and return to the induction base where she will be required to enlist once again. Should she refuse, she will be sentenced to another month in jail. This process repeats itself ad nauseam until the army decides to officially discharge her. Over the past few years, a number of conscientious objectors have been sentenced up to 10 times in this vicious cycle.

תאיר קמינר, בת 19, סיימה לאחרונה שנת שירות במסגרת תנועת הצופים בעיר שדרות, שם התנדבה עם ילדים שרבים מהם עברו טראומה מהמלחמות עם עזה ומירי הרקטות על העיר. "הילדים שעבדתי איתם גדלו בלב הסכסוך וחוו חוויות קשות מגיל צעיר, חוויות שעיצבו ברבים מהם שנאה גדולה, שאפשר להבין אותה, במיוחד כשהיא באה מילדים צעירים", כתבה קמינר בהצהרה לקראת כליאתה.

"כמותם, רבים מהילדים שגדלים בעזה או בשטחים, במציאות קשה אף יותר, לומדים לשנוא את הצד השני. גם אותם אי אפשר להאשים. כשאני מסתכלת על כל הילדים יחד, על הדורות הבאים של שני הצדדים ועל המציאות שבה הם גדלים, אני רואה המשכיות של טראומות וכאב. ואני אומרת: די! לכן אני מסרבת: כדי לא לקחת חלק פעיל במעשה הכיבוש השטחים הפלסטינים ובעוולות שנעשות לעם הפלסטיני תחת הכיבוש, כדי לא לקחת במעגל השנאה בעזה ובשדרות".

עוד כתבה קמינר כי היא פועלת מתוך שאיפה להבטיח שלום, שוויון, דמוקרטיה וביטחון לכל יושבי הארץ, והדגישה במיוחד את מי שביטחונם נשכח מהזיכרון לרוב – הפלסטינים, והישראלים תושבי הנגב המערבי. "משכנעים אותנו שלצבא אין קשר לפוליטיקה, אבל לשרת בצבא זו החלטה פוליטית בעלת משקל כבד, בדיוק כמו סירוב", סיכמה. "הכלא הצבאי מפחיד אותי פחות מאשר אובדן האנושיות של החברה שלנו.

כאמור, קמינר צפויה להשפט על ידי קצין בדין משמעתי בגין סירובה להתגייס, ולהכלא לתקופה של עד חודש. אעדכן כאן בהמשך היום על העונש שייגזר על קמינר היום [עדכון: היא נשפטה לעשרים יום]. מה שלרוב קורה לאחר מכן הוא מעגל של כליאות ושחרורים: סרבנים משתחררים מהכלא, חוזרים לבקו"ם, שוב מתבקשים להתגייס, שוב מסרבים ושוב נשפטים לתקופה של עד חודש, וחוזר חלילה. בשנים האחרונות נשפטו מספר סרבנים באופן זה והגיעו עד לעשר תקופות כליאה במעגל האכזרי הזה.

כך היה המקרה בשנים האחרונות עם נתן בלנק,  אוריאל פררה, עומר סעד ואודי סגל,יחיאל נחמני, עידו רמון, אפי דרשנר ואחרים. בשבועות הקרובים צפויים להכנס לכלא על סירוב עוד כארבעה סרבנים וסרבניות.
