Ο 12χρονος Darius Brown από το Νιου Τζέρσι των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών έχει
δυο μεγάλα πάθη: Τα παπιγιόν και τα ζώα. Έτσι αποφάσισε να τα συνδυάσει και τα δυο βοηθώντας τα ζώα που τόσο λατρεύει.
At the age of 2, Sir Darius was diagnosed with speech, comprehension, and fine motor skills delay but he never let his challenges stop him from accomplishing any of his goals. Sir Darius became interested in making bow ties when he was 8 years old while watching his sister sew. He started to
assist her by cutting the fabric to help improve his fine motor skills.
Shortly after he started designing and selling bow ties to family, friends, and at vendoring events.
Στα 8 του ο Darius, λόγω του ότι δεν μπορούσε να χειριστεί καλά τα χέρια του, ξεκίνησε
σαν άσκηση να φτιάχνει κορδέλες για τα μαλλιά των κοριτσιών. Αυτό ήταν κάτι που θα
τον βοηθούσε πολύ στο θέμα υγείας του.
Στη συνέχεια ξεκίνησε να φτιάχνει πρωτότυπα και καλόγουστα παπιγιόν, τα οποία
του άρεσαν πολύ. Και τα φορούσε. Οι άνθρωποι μάλιστα, όπως λέει και ο ίδιος, τον σταματούσαν στο δρόμο και τον ρωτούσαν από πού έχει αγοράσει τα παπιγιόν.
Έτσι με τη βοήθεια των δικών του δημιούργησε την εταιρεία Beaux & Pets όπου
έφτιαχνε παπιγιόν για τους ανθρώπους αλλά και για τους σκύλους τους.
In 2017, Sir Darius became emotional and was moved by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma and wanted to do something to help. Learning that some
rescue dogs were being transferred from the devastation in Texas and Puerto Rico to
the ASPCA in NYC as well as other shelters, Sir Darius decided to donate bow ties to
these displaced dogs to help them look attractive and fashionable in hopes of getting
them adopted faster and finding their new FUR-ever homes. During this time Sir Darius learned that every year thousands of dogs are euthanized at some shelters if they are
not adopted in time due to limited space. When he learned of this horrific act he was
beyond devastated. A dog lover himself, this was the beginning of Sir Darius's mission
to help dogs and cats across the nation as much as he could.

Είχε μάθει για τα αμέτρητα σκυλάκια που ζουν εγκαταλελειμμένα στα καταφύγια
και που τα περίμενε ευθανασία και θέλησε να βοηθήσει τις φιλοζωικές για να
σώσουν μαζί όσα περισσότερα γίνεται.

Ο Darius ήρθε σε επαφή με το φιλοζωικό οργανισμό American Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals όπου άρχισε να χαρίζει παπιγιόν ώστε να είναι
όμορφα τα σκυλάκια όταν φωτογραφίζονται για να βρουν σπίτι.
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι η εμφάνιση βοηθάει πολύ ένα ζωάκι να βρει σπίτι.
Με τον καιρό ο κόσμος έμαθε αυτό που κάνει και άρχισε να του στέλνει κλωστές,
υφάσματα και ό,τι άλλο χρειάζεται για να φτιάξει και άλλα παπιγιόν για τα ζώα.
Μέχρι σήμερα ο ταλαντούχος Darius έχει κατασκευάσει αμέτρητα παπιγιόν και έχει
λάβει πολλά βραβεία για την προσφορά του.
Και αυτός συνεχίζει.
Η αγάπη του για τα ζώα είναι ατελείωτη και η βοήθεια που δίνει στα διάφορα καταφύγια
και τις φιλοζωικές οργανώσεις μεγάλη. Είπαμε, ο καθένας βοηθάει όπως μπορεί.
Αρκεί να βοηθάει. Και αυτό είναι κάτι που το ξέρει καλά ο μικρός Darius, ο οποίος στις συνεντεύξεις που δίνει αναφέρει ότι αυτό είναι κάτι που θέλει να το κάνει για πάντα.
Sir Darius has donated countless bow ties to animal shelters and adoption
centers across the USA and in the United Kingdom.
Former President Barack Obama learned of Sir Darius and his mission, sending
him a letter of recognition for his compassion, efforts, achievements and his
commitment to service. Sir Darius has received support, encouragement and have
designed bow ties for former NBA All-Star Allen Houston, motivational speaker
Les Brown, Michael Strahan, Walt Frazier, Scott Perry, The NY Knicks, NY Giants,
actress Kenya Moore, Tiffany "The Budgestnista", Radio host DeJa Vu just to
name a few. He has also received the Leadership Award from "Leaders of the
Future No Limits", Outstanding Achievement Award from the "WDIB Conference",
the Youth Changer Award from "Excel Honors" and he will be receiving the Jasmina
Anema Youth Award from the "Black Cotton Foundation" July 2019
Summer is upon us and Sir Darius's PAW-some mission is to visit 5+ states to
volunteer at different shelters and adoption centers assisting with the care of their
shelter dogs, helping with adoption events as well as getting them cute and dapper
in his snazzy bow ties in hopes of getting as many dogs as he can adopted this summer.
Sir Darius needs your help in reaching his goal from all of you amazing dog
lovers and supporters. He needs financial assistance to help with:
*Purchasing supplies to create doggie bow ties
*A new sewing machine
* Shipping fees (to ship bow ties to shelters and adoption centers that he can't visit)
*Transportation/arrangements to 5+ states to volunteer at & to promote adoption events
at adoption centers & shelters
*Transportation to and from local shelters
*Registering as a 501C
*Registering his LLC
*Creating a website
* If he surpass his goal he will be able to complete almost everything on this list but
his main focus is to visit and volunteer at more than 5 shelters and adoption centers
across the USA which means helping more dogs find their loving FUR-ever homes.
